Counseling Services

The Counseling Department of PHILLIPS Schools offers a full range of therapeutic services to meet the needs of PHILLIPS students including:

  • Individual and group therapy

  • Self-esteem and self-advocacy training 

  • Autism services and social skills training

  • Trauma informed treatment

  • Expressive therapies of art, play, sand and movement

  • Crisis intervention

  • Mindfulness

Family Services

Counseling services are available to families of students to ensure a collaborative approach and services are tailored to their specific needs.  Family Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Communication and planning with families of PHILLIPS students in order to enhance school success

  • Parent education and training

  • Home visits, behavioral programming and support

  • Referrals and coordination with outside psychological services 

  • Enhance the role of parents and families as child’s first/most important teacher

About Our Staff

The staff of the PHILLIPS School’s Counseling Departments is comprised of licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors and a developmental psychologist* with certifications in the following:

  • Play Therapy

  • Trauma Treatment

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy

  • Sand Play Therapy*

  • Co-Occurring Disorders

  • Canine Assisted Therapy*
