Annual Campaign

"PEACE AND HARMONY" – THIS POSTER BY A PHILLIPS SCHOOL ~ LAUREL STUDENT WON SECOND PLACE IN THE 2022 CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS! CONTEST ORGANIZED BY THE MARYLAND COALITION OF FAMILIES AND THE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF MARYLAND

$79,000 RAISED!

Our generous supporters have done it again. After the record-breaking response to our 2021 Annual Campaign, we set an ambitious goal of $75,000 for 2022. Now we are delighted to announce that our donors put us over the top with a grand total of $79,000 raised during the 2022 Annual Campaign. That makes it our most successful Annual Campaign ever.

These donations directly benefit youth with behavioral health needs and their families by giving PHILLIPS the resources to provide special education day schools, career and technical education, and home- and community-based counseling.

This support is especially important now, as we begin a bold expansion of our mission. Through our new nonprofit, SpringForward Ventures, we are creating innovative companies designed around the abilities and needs of workers to help young adults overcome barriers to employment.

For example, thanks to our partnership with Brigaid, acclaimed chef Ben Pflaumer is now working in our commercial kitchen at PHILLIPS School ~ Annandale. He is reinventing our school meals while showing Culinary Arts students and staff how to upgrade institutional food with homestyle scratch cooking. This is the first step toward launching SpringForward Feeds, an employee-owned meal service company that will hire PHILLIPS graduates and others like them who are ready and eager to work.

We are now in our 56th year of providing innovative, individualized solutions. This is what some parents have told us about the difference PHILLIPS has made in their children’s lives.

“My son has learned to trust and respect adults! This is a major breakthrough having come from a troubled background. PHILLIPS staff and teachers provided a supportive and caring environment so he could learn.”

“My daughter -- in her first year at PHILLIPS -- has grown exponentially. She is confident in herself and her abilities.”

“He has more confidence in himself and tasks he takes on. He has skills that prepare him for adulthood.”

Ashley, a 2013 PHILLIPS graduate, is “living proof” that you are helping to change lives when you support PHILLIPS.

With the help of our supporters, we accomplished so much in 2022. Together, we will do much more in the year ahead.

Sincerely,
